The Director, Underwriter & Portfolio Manager position provides strategic leadership and direction to Aerospace and Defense (ADG) underwriting and portfolio management.
Oversees the alignment of underwriting and portfolio management strategies with wider organizational tactics to maximize Bank earnings while minimizing risk.
Ensures compliance with corporate strategy, internal policy, and applicable laws, and regulations.

Underwriting Oversight - Provides leadership to the ADG underwriting and approval process.
Ensures that credit quality standards, lending targets, and compliance requirements are met.
Handles credit denial override requests, decisions credit on large loans, and provides oversight to highly complex loan requests.
Identifies inefficiencies, voids, or deficits in lending processes, and develops appropriate solutions.
Supports the Bank's safety and soundness objectives.
Business Support - Responsible for the development, revision, and implementation of compliant and effective strategies, policies, standards, and procedures, as it relates to underwriting and portfolio management.
Advises on strategies to ensure risks are properly identified and portfolio composition is aligned with overall Bank balance sheet and appropriate for various economic environments.
Monitors changes in the economy and macroeconomic environment and advises executive management on potential opportunities to enhance shareholder return.
Reporting - Directs analysis and reporting efforts to support investment decision making and alignment with corporate strategy.
Oversees and provides reports on strategies and risk positions to Councils and the Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO), and other appropriate parties.
Ensures all activities follow regulatory guidance, Bank policies and guidelines.
Managerial Functions - Leads an underwriting and portfolio management team.
Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals.
Makes appropriate changes to team policies, procedures, and efficiencies in order to meet objectives.
Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff.
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is $175,000 - $225,000/Yr.
This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay.

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or risk managment or High School Diploma or GED with 12 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or risk management.
Other/Preferred
Qualifications:
Completion of formal credit training program, preferred.
